Berlin is a melting pot of international cuisines that are as affordable as they are delicious. From raw zucchini noodles to the best kebab you’ll ever taste, you can find amazing meals for well under €10. Here are 15 of our favourite cheap eats in Berlin.

1. Chutnify

Most Indian restaurants in Berlin are diabolically bad, but Chutnify and its incredible South Indian street food bucks the trend. With locations in Neukölln and Prenzlauer Berg, Chutnify is the savior of Indian food in Berlin. Try their coconut chicken curry platter, which serves two for only €9.50!

2. Bunbao

Berlin has its fair share of amazing Asian restaurants and killer burger joints…but why should you have to choose?? Enjoy an Asian-fusion burger at Bunbao and you get the best of both worlds. Their menu has loads of tasty and unusual dishes to choose from, but we recommend the “Vegan Lovers” (€7.50) for an interesting spin on a white bean burger with chopped mangos on top. Whatever you order, make sure you add the sweet potato fries – they’re the business!

3. Chupenga

Head to Chupenga in Berlin for some of the best Mexican food in town
Some say it’s hard to find good Mexican food in Germany. We say those people have yet to try Chupenga, who have brought the best of Mexican-Californian street food to Berlin. There are also some great options for veggies and people with food intolerances. A filling main plus a drink comes in at under €10 = winning.

4. Funk You Natural Food

This gluten free cafe is slap bang in the middle of brand new concept mall Bikini Berlin, arguably the best thing to happen to Berlin West since David Bowie. At Funk You Natural Food you’ll find a wide selection of energy boosting, gluten or dairy free goodies that will win over even the most avid meat eaters. We recommend the matcha smoothie and raw zucchini noodles, which are delicious and surprisingly filling.

Once you’re done you can head next door to Spirit Coffee for delicious coffee and a blueberry cheesecake lolly for pudding.

5. Prinzessinnengarten

The Prinzessinnengarten serve up heavenly homemade food in a community garden in Kreuzberg, which is maintained by an army of volunteers. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life, and many of the ingredients are sourced straight from the planters around you. The café’s open from April to October, with a daily changing menu of delicious and affordable dishes.

6. East & Eden

East and Eden offers up cheap vegan meals in Berlin

Located just off the bustling Rosenthaler Platz, East & Eden serves one of the best salads in Berlin, with massive portions for just €7.30. You’ll also find hearty sandwiches and some great brunch options including the creamiest avocado on toast you’ll ever taste. Don’t forget to try one of their super healthy green juices and smoothies.

7. Mustafa’s

Cheap and delicious vegan kebab at Mustafa's in Berlin
No visit to Berlin is complete without trying the ubiquitous kebab, or “Döner”, which is said to have been invented here. The best place to try one is Mustafa’s, where you can also opt for the INCREDIBLE veggie version. And at €2.90 they’re and absolute steal. Be warned, this kebab stand almost always has a long line, but their fresh ingredients and sauces are worth the wait.

8. Bibi Mix

Bibi Mix: Good Korean restaurant near Alexanderplatz

This tiny Korean restaurant is the best place to eat near the touristy Alexanderplatz. The traditional bibimbap is delicious, but you can also try some not so traditional food in the form of a Korean burger. You can easily get out of here for under €10.

9. Dolores California Burritos

Stop in at Dolores for a satisfying burrito, taco or quesadilla with a California twist! They have fresh ingredients and a casual atmosphere that will keep you coming back for more. The portions are massive and you can easily dine for under €10.

10. Burgermeister

Get the perfect burger for under 5 euros at Burgermeister

Located directly under the subway rails at Schlesisches Tor, Burgermeister is a great way to start or end any night out in Kreuzberg. The burgers (under €5!) and fries are made to order and you can grab a stool at one of the high tables as the U-Bahn zooms by above.

11. Angry Chicken

Little sister of trendy Korean BBQ spot Kimchi Princess, Angry Chicken serves up amazing burgers, fries and fried chicken with Korean flavors. The menu is also Insta-worthy, with spiciness ranging from friendly to furious. You can get a full meal combo (Chicken, fries and a drink) for just €8! We won’t lie, their sweet potato fries are what dreams are made of.

12. Mãmây

We’re guilty of ordering take-out from here more often than is socially acceptable. The traditional and affordable dishes are fill of color and flavors, and are beautifully presented too. Following in the Vietnamese tea house tradition, Mãmây also serves steamings cup of fresh leaves, herbs, or ginger (all organically grown) to go with your meal. There are so many good things to try, but the chicken with mango sauce is one of our favorites, and costs just € 7.50 for a massive portion.

13. Côcô Bánh Mì Deli

Côcô Bánh Mì Deli is the best place for bánh mì in Berlin! Sample this Vietnamese street food staple, which for the uninitiated involves a baguette filled with different kinds of meat and fresh veggies… enough said! From just €5.50, this is a great idea any time of day. We love the sandwich with their lemongrass meatballs…YUM!

14. Zola

Serving up quality Neapolitan-style pizza from its huge wood-fire oven, Zola has quickly risen through the ranks and now serves one of the best pizzas in Berlin. We think a good pizza place can always be gaged on their margarita, and Zola’s does not disappoint.
