You can find the MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam City West in the neighborhood of Sloterdijk which is part of the larger Westpoort district. Our hotel is conveniently located close to the Sloterdijk train station. From there, it is only one train stop to reach the Central Station and 10 minutes to Schiphol airport. Everything is at the tip of your fingers.

really cool hostel, clean and good amenities. bit far to walk outside of the city, but really good transport to central Amsterdam! would definitely recommend

This "hostel" has the benefits and cons of a hotel. Always clean, professional, towels and soap included, reception around, great security, and a 24hr store. Problems were that the location was quite horrible, ok to get into the city during the day but quite difficult at night. Also had a antisocial vibe with a cold hostel lobby and too large social spaces with many student groups. Not a great location if solo travelling and wanting to party but it's a nice break from more traditional hostels.

Front desk people were not helpful, told us to do everything via their website or hostelworld website. We booked there expecting to pay about 300 €, at the end we had to get another room for addition 180 €. Further we had to pay a city tax of 50 € at the counter by card. I‘m sure you wrote somewhere in your general terms and conditions that this might happen, but i feel scammed. Since you don‘t communicate all the costs transparent, I don‘t think that I‘ll use hostelworld in the future.
