Wasn’t what I was expecting, a lot was old and broken. A nice room however, the AC at night didn’t work at all, tv broken (not essential), lift button was broken on my floor, washing machines didn’t work which is fine as I do my own but I went in with the expectation that I could do washing as it’s longer into my trip!
Overall I didn’t meet anyone and I am a social butterfly, met people outside hostel in activities. Excellent lady who checked me in, she was super friendly, brown long hair!

Staff were incredibly polite and helpful in every way. Nothing was too much for them to help with and the whole ambience was smooth and very welcoming.

While Hostel World calculated my rating as 8, I would be more inclined to give Generator Rome a 7.
To start with the positive, the room was very spacious and we had 2 en-suite bathrooms to share between 6 people, which was great (and is uncommon). The place was very clean and staff were very friendly. Location is also good - very close to the train station which can come in handy if you have a lot of luggage.
