The Central House Barcelona Gracia

Our stay at Central House Gracia was promising at check in but then turned into a very disappointing stay. Something with the sewage was wrong and caused both women’s bathrooms to have an awful smell. The second bathroom was even closed due to maintenance which caused the other bathroom to be extremely crowded. The individual lockers in the room had a FOUL strange smell (almost like dirty feet but worse) and that smell caused our clothes and belongings to unfortunately smell the same. Then on our last night, we were woken up at 4am by a woman in our room talking at full volume. Soon thereafter, we realized she had brought another person into the room (who was not staying in the room) and they proceeded to have VERY audible noises which kept us up until they finished (which was over an hour later) it was the most disrespectful thing she could have done with all of us strangers in the room. I recognize that this is not the hostels fault but I hope that the hostel has banned this traveler and will enforce stricter policies upfront with future travelers, especially when you are sharing a room with strangers. The common area was very quiet and well kept, which was nice. Great location. However, between the sewage issue and the smell of the lockers, we will not be returning.

Overall it was a really great Hostel. It was clean, and the rooms were great - good beds with curtains! And very sturdy! Everything else was great, the showers had hot water. The wifi was a little bit intermittent but there were 3 to choose from if another dropped out. The only small comment I would make, is to have hand towel/hand dryer in the bathrooms. Thanks for a great stay, I will defo come again if I am in Barca.

Very clean and big bedrooms/bathrooms! Nice kitchen and the terrace is great for socializing, enjoying a meal, and just relaxing. Also the perfect location for seeing all the sites in Barcelona, would highly recommend!
