Castle Rock Hostel is in an ideal location just beside Edinburgh Castle, up the hill from Grassmarket. This carefully-decorated hostel has clean, spacious, themed rooms that our guests have described as ‘lovely and warm’, as well as a large kitchen and multiple lounges, so there’s plenty of space to meet others or find a quiet corner. this was an amazing stay! the beds were comfortable and fresh. there were lockers for valuables. I would have loved a locker for my big bag, but felt safe leaving it out with a lock on it. the bathrooms were clean. the art everywhere was amazing! the view of Edinburgh castle was stunning!

I loved this hostel! It was a really great kind of socialist commune vibe. The staff were really friendly even helped me figure out my trains. They had an event thing where we all went scottish dancing and it was super fun! The room with all the beds was really open and airy and the beds were really comfortable. There weren't separate gender bathrooms and instead all the stalls and everything were way more private which was really nice. My only complaint was that the sinks would sometimes stop working rando

Nothing to criticize on location and facilities - they are excellent! My experience got a bit tarnished due to overcharging which we later managed to sort out with the friendly staff. So overall, it is an okay stay!
