OUR STAFF:
Tizia and Tini, the German-Tanzanian couple that founded Nyumban Hostel are passionate about tourism, wildlife and culture. Tini was born and raised in Arusha and is a professional tour guide. Tizia has a Bachelor Degree in Cultural Anthropology and almost a decade living experience in Tanzania. Together they created 'Nyumbani Hostel' as a meeting place for backpackers, volunteers, tourists and travelers.
Glory, our on-site manager will make sure your stay with us will be an unforgettable experience!
Our staff, including the wonderful Mamas, will be there for you day in and day out, assisting with washing your clothes and helping you with anything needed. Our chef Gilbart is preparing delicious breakfast and dinner.
LOCATION:
Our Nyumbani Hostel is located in an area called Sakina, a little West of the Arusha City Centre. It's a local but very safe area. Within 1 minute walking you can reach the main road and within 25 minutes you are in the City Centre by foot.
There are a lot of shops and local restaurants around where you can buy whatever is needed; taxis and motorbikes can pick you up from the hostel. Buses are available in a short walking distance at the main road. Public transport is a super fun experience in Tanzania!

Had a decent stay here at Nyumbani. The staff and guides are friendly and the facilities are good, especially the pool and the rooftop bar. The place wasn't really social when I was there but that's probably because there were only a handful of people staying in the whole complex at the time. The place is also a fair way out of town and getting around anywhere will mean you will have to drive everywhere. All meals which are pretty plain will need to be onsite as there is nothing around either in walking dis

Stayed 3N post Kilimanjaro climb & recommend, would return. A simple, spacious hostel/guesthouse with big rooms, dining areas & communal kitchen, lovely pool, rooftop bar, onsite spa (Liz is AMAZING at massage & facial) & free drinking water. Glory & Tizia incredibly responsive & helpful via whatsapp, lovely staff & Maga (chef) serves family style dinner & breakfast. Booked Duluti, Chemka & Tarangire day trips and airport transfer through them. Lots of volunteers there ~3 months, friends to make
